  3. PASTOR’S INTENT (1 of 7) My intent is to follow God’s mandate, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it” (Pr. 22:6).

  4. PASTOR’S INTENT (2 of 7) This will be accomplished by the child’s progressive spiritual growth by means of a grace learning system that relies upon the Holy Spirit, the sufficiency of Scripture and the communication of Bible doctrine within that Scripture (2 Peter 3:18).

  5. PASTOR’S INTENT (3 of 7) The three objectives of the child’s spiritual growth in the Grace Atlanta Bible Church Children’s Preparatory Program are . . .

  6. PASTOR’S INTENT(4 of 7) Immediate Objective The child’s salvation, a metabolized knowledge of eternal security, the character of God, and national patriotism.

  7. PASTOR’S INTENT(5 of 7) Progressive Objective The child’s command of the spiritual life through the use of Problem Solving Devices (PSD’s) I-VI and his/her preparation for entrance as a productive & stabilizing member of society.

  8. PASTOR’S INTENT(6 of 7) Ultimate Objective The child’s proficiency in the application of the advanced PSDs VII-X and subsequent attainment of spiritual maturity (Eph 4:13).

PASTOR’S INTENT(7 of 7) These objectives will be accomplished through the teaching of a curriculum approved by the Chairman (pastor), directed and managed by the Superintendent, and executed by the Directors and respective teachers in accordance with the program’s Organizational Structure and Pastor’s Policy letter effective January 13th, 2001.

  10. SITUATION The children attending Grace Atlanta Bible Church need quality biblical teaching in order to glorify God and prepare themfor combating the three enemies of the Christian; the world, the flesh, and the devil.

  11. MISSION(1 of 8) GABCs Children’s Preparatory Program will facilitate the assimilation of accurate biblical teaching through an approved curriculum in a manner commensurate with the child’s level of understanding.

  12. MISSION(2 of 8) The mission of the Children’s Preparatory Program will encourage at-home adult participation and result in the accomplishment of Five Core Objectives.

  13. MISSION(3 of 8) FIRST OBJECTIVE A steadfast and confident perspective of God’s plan for their lives.

  14. MISSION(4 of 8) SECOND OBJECTIVE An affective knowledge of true worship (John 4:24). Bible Doctrine Filling of the Holy Spirit

  15. MISSION(5 of 8) THIRD OBJECTIVE A flourishing spiritual life that results in effective prayer, evangelism, worship, and spiritual gift realization/function.

  16. MISSION(6 of 8) FOURTH OBJECTIVE Participation in the Adult Communion Service.

  17. MISSION(7 of 8) FIFTH OBJECTIVE Preparation for and eventual transition into the adult assembly as effective members.

  18. MISSION(8 of 8) The overall accomplishment of the Five Core Objectives will result in the child’s glorification of God through the execution of the unique spiritual life and his/her effectiveness as a stabilizing factor for the local community and our nation.

  19. EXECUTION(1 of 11) Teaching Bible doctrine in understandable terms • The Children’s Preparatory Program will accomplish the Pastor’s Intent by reflecting the emphasis of the ministry through:

  24. EXECUTION(6 of 11) Children will remain subdivided into 3 divisions DIVISION ONE: TODDLER Emphasize characteristics of God in order to bring children to God-consciousness, salvation, manners awareness, and authority orientation.

  25. EXECUTION(7 of 11) DIVISION TWO: PRIMARY Emphasize the Christian’s eternal security, basics of the spiritual life (PSD’s 1-3), evangelism, and divine institutions.

  26. EXECUTION(8 of 11) DIVISION THREE: JUNIOR Emphasis placed upon the pulpit ministry to accomplish the Ultimate Objective which is the child’s eventual transition to the adult ministry.

  27. EXECUTION(9 of 11) • Toddlers (3-4 yrs): 1. Ensure the curriculum focuses on Biblical narrative, emphasizing the Character of God in order to bring children to God consciousness & salvation. 2. First Sunday session for teaching, Second session: songs, games, and playtime. 3. Develop promises notebook (1 promise per wk) 4. Lesson Plan Handoff to parents

EXECUTION(10 of 11) • Primary (5-8 yrs) • Ensure curriculum focuses on salvation, eternal security, basics of the spiritual life (PSD’s 1-3), evangelism, divine institutions as revealed in the biblical narrative. • Supports the basics of the GABC ministry. • Involve singing with the Junior Dept for 2nd hour, 1st 15 minutes. • Develop promises notebook for each child • Lesson Plan Handoff to parents

EXECUTION(11 of 11) • Junior (9-14 yrs) • Ensure curriculum focuses on preparation for Communion Service, command of Problem Solving Devices (1-6), reflects emphasis of pulpit ministry for eventual transition (doctrines, slides, and verses). • Involve singing with Primary Dept for 2nd hr, 1st 15 minutes. • Develop promises notebook for each student. • Lesson Plan Handoff to parents.

  30. TEACHERRESPONSIBILITIES 1. Read the Pastor’s Policy Letter dated 13JAN01 2. Pass the Teacher Proficiency Test 3. Turn in lesson plans 1 week prior to class 4. No more than 2 Sundays per month per teacher (teaching responsibilities will not detract from progression in the overall pulpit ministry) 5. Utilize testing for the students to evaluate effectiveness and accelerate learning

Teacher Lesson Plans to Director by prior Sun, Directors provide for Superintendent by Tues PM.

  34. DISCIPLINE • Any discipline problems that cannot be handled in class will be sent directly to the Superintendent. • All parental confrontations will be deferred to the Superintendent. GABC TEACHERS & STAFF ARE NOT AUTHORIZED NOR WILL THEY USE CORPORAL DISCIPLINE
