TILS Appraisal Instrument • A rubric format • Used during the leadership training program* • and on-the-job • Provides opportunities for rich conversations • to occur • Used by the Student/Employee • Partner Institution • Coach/Mentor • Director/Designee • For self-appraisal, Coach/Mentor discussions, • Director/Designee appraisals • *May be determined specifically in the • School District/IHE Agreement

  5. All indicators have a place for self, coach/partner, and director/designee appraisal rating TILS Appraisal Instrument Space for “evidence” to be documented by the student/employee Could be completed in a paper document or “drop-down” electronic format to show progression

  7. After Obtaining a Job: • The Principal* completes the TILS Appraisal Instrument • Principal also collects available supporting school data • Director** completes initial TILS Appraisal for the Principal * Principal or Instructional Supervisor ** Director or Designee Hired

  9. The Principal and Director discuss the TILS Appraisal Instrument • Supporting School Data are reviewed • The TILS Appraisal Instrument and School Data drive the development of three school goals • Consideration is given to the Principal’s Professional Growth Plan First Performance Meeting

  10. Tennessee Instructional Leaders Performance Contract Template May be used “as is” or adapted within individual districts Goals related to school/department data Aligned with TILS Includes Action Plan and Expected Results Documented Outcomes to be completed at end of year Form stays at district level

  11. Instructional Leaders Data Analysis Could be a second page of the Performance Contract Template Boxes could be “drop-down” electronic format Examples of Sections that comply with TCA and aligns with TILS Form would remain at the district level

  12. Reference to TCA Tennessee Instructional LeadersProfessional Growth Plan Completed on a yearly basis to guide professional growth May align with Performance Contract or be related to the individual’s professional growth Allows for one form to serve three purposes: IHE partnerships, TASL verification for licensure, licensure change documentation

Electronic log that student/employee used to document evidence of progression through standards (may be used in program and on-the-job) TILS E-Log Could be web-based or electronic format “Drop-down” electronic format where student/employee may continue to add to body of evidence Sections may be submitted to appropriate others (Director, Coach, Partner) as requested or required
