Welcome to Ms. Shinkle's newsletter for August 26-30! Please sign your student's light page each night. This week, our Specials Schedule includes P.E., Music, and Art. In Reading, we'll explore concepts of print, while Writing focuses on the "kindergarten" style for letters and names. Math activities involve comparing objects and counting to 20. We will learn about our community in Science and Social Studies. No birthdays this week! Letters of the Week are Qq, Ll, Tt, Hh, Bb—practice these at home!

  1. Ms. Shinkle’s Newsletter August 26-30 Special Announcements: Please check and sign this EACH night!! Your student’s light page is on the back. Our Specials Schedule: Mon.P.E Tues. Music Wed. Art Thurs. P.E. Fri. Music What We’re Learning: Reading: Concepts of print—author/illustrator, left to right reading and one to one correspondence. Writing: We will still focus on writing our name the “kindergarten” way. We will also be learning how to write letters the “kindergarten” way. Math: We will be comparing and describing objects, and working on counting to 20. Science and Social Studies: We will be learning about our community and world and how to take care of it. Birthdays: No Birthday’s this week! Letters of the Week: Qq, Ll, Tt, Hh, Bb ** Please work on writing these letters with your students at home.
