  1. Why is Pre Shipment Inspection Certificate Essential?

  2. To check the presence of radioactive material and other explosive material in a scrap that is being imported to India from other countries, getting a pre-shipment inspection certificate is a must. This certificate is provided by the 'Pre-shipment Inspection Agencies' that are specially appointed by the representative of the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT).

  3. This organization assesses the applications of companies with required equipment and trained personnel for checking radiation in imported scrap. For this, they use specialized equipment like Portable SpectroMeter, Survey Meter etc. Besides the professionals of the prospective company should be expert at using these equipment’s to find the presence of radioactive radiation in the scrap consignment.

  4. The 'Pre-shipment Inspection Agencies' are certified to issue 'Pre-shipment Inspection Certificates' (PSIC) in India and at various foreign ports. DGFT usually appoint these agencies within India to issue Pre-Shipment Inspection Certificate (PSIC's). These agencies first inspect and then certify whether or not the scrap is free from radiation and non-presence of explosive material after the scrap reaches India and before it is cleared by the Custom Authorities.

  5. Sandeep Garg and Company (SGNCO) is an approved agency for issuance of Pre-shipment Inspection Certificate Format. It is equipped with state of the art tools and machinery that are used to check radiation level, explosive material, etc. SGNCO can issue a pre-shipment inspection certificate in any port in India for scrap which is to be imported to India and which has not yet obtained the necessary pre-shipment certification by approved agencies at the port of loading.

  6. Companies who are importing scrap to India from other countries can get PSIC from SGNCO soon after the shipment has reached the Indian port. The professionals at this firm check the shipment for quality. The tests are based on strict quality control norms to ensure the essential quality of the metal scraps based on set standards.
