Empowering Digital Participation: The "Digitizing Yourself into the Internet Community" Program

The "Digitizing Yourself into the Internet Community" program offers essential computer classes aimed at equipping participants with crucial web skills. Classes include Web Document Sharing, Photo and Video Sharing, Publishing, and Social Networking. Following the program, 95% of participants confidently shared documents, 100% created photo albums, and 90% established personal websites. Outcomes highlight the importance of digital literacy in today’s society. Moving forward, we will continue weekly classes, set up a Tech Desk, and offer personalized computer assistance to support ongoing learning.

  5. Outcomes Web Document Sharing: 95% demonstrated the ability to share web documents using Google’s docs 95% reported the classes useful Web Photo and Video Sharing: 100% of participants created and uploaded a photo album on Picasa

  6. Outcomes (cont.) Web Publishing: 90% created a free website either using Wordpress or Blogger. • Web Social Networking: 98% created an account with either Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn

  7. What’s next? • Continue offering computer classes on a weekly basis • Establish a Tech Desk • Provide one-on-one computer assistance
