A High School Diploma gives you options! • Access to Government Financial Aid assistance for career training or college. • Opportunity to enroll in a community or technical college • Ability to obtain a job that rewards you with earnings, promotion potential, and a sense of usefulness and purpose • The privilege of independence and the power to make your own choices Importance of High School Completion

Attendance is critical • Self-care is important – time management, adequate sleep and eating habits. • Build relationships with your teachers. • Come to class on time, prepared, and pay attention. • Do the classwork – you’ll have less homework – study for tests. • When you don’t know – ask! • Use the resources available! – counselors, teachers, tutoring and I-team – they are all here to ensure your success. How do we get there?

  5. Excused absences: medical, court, death in family or exceptional circumstances. • Parents can write Three (3) excused absences per semester. • Procedure for student returning from absence: Turn in excuse note to the attendance office. • Time allowed for Make-up work—2 days to make up work when a class is missed. • Four (4) unexcused absences will result in a failing grade. Student will earn a 59. The student would still be able to pass a class depending upon the exam grade. LMHS Attendance Policy

(Summer of your Sophomore Year) • Volunteer Service: Gain experience; need for Bright Futures academic scholar award (forms are available on the ERHS guidance website). • Extra Curricular Activities: Build leadership and teamwork skills through special clubs and organizations Areas of Interest While in High School

Florida Academic Scholarship 4 English 4 Math Algebra 1 and higher (Liberal Arts Math & Informal Geometry do not count) 3 Science (2 w/ lab) 3 Social Studies - World History - Am. History - Gov’t/Economics 2 Foreign Language GPA -3.5 weighted Qualifying score on ACT or SAT. Florida Gold Seal Scholarship 4 English 4 Math (Algebra 1 and Higher 3 Science (2 w/ lab) 3 Social Studies - World History - Am. History - Gov’t/Economics 1 Practical/Performing Arts 1 Hope 3 Vocational Courses (Must be a vocational program completer with a min. 3.5 GPA in 3 courses.)
