  12. Our attitude toward our “stuff” Why is it important to know about stewardship? 1. To know how I can respond to God’s goodness by becoming a better steward of what He has given me. 2. To inspire other Christians to a greater level of commitment to Christ’s Kingdom through ministry. 3. To financially position our church for a greater level of ministry by increasing our weekly offerings. PAGE 2

Our attitude toward our “stuff” Matt 6:19-24 • 19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. • But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. • For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. • "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. PAGE 2

  23. Our attitude toward our “stuff” Luke 18:18-23 18 A certain ruler asked him, "Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" 19 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. 20 You know the commandments: 'Do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother." PAGE 2

  24. Our attitude toward our “stuff” Luke 18:18-23 21 "All these I have kept since I was a boy," he said. 22 When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing.
