  3. Scope The GOC will provide all credentialed participants of the ATHENS 2011 SOWSG, with transportation services, according to their respective Transport entitlement. These services are designed to meet each participant’s essential needs, with the highest efficiency, safety and convenience.

  4. Main Transport Policies • Exclusive Delegations Transport Services during: • Games Time: (Linkage of Accommodation sites with Sports Venues). • The arrival/departure phases, • The departures and arrivals to/from host towns, and • The Opening /Closing Ceremonies. • Free of charge access to public transport, • For all Credentialed participants • Access and parking at Venues only with GOC endorsed permits • No standing passengers are allowed in GOC buses

Transport Arrangements -HOD’s & AHOD’s • Provision of dedicated car and volunteer driver; • Service hours 06:30 - 21:30, with mid-day break between 13:00-13:30 for shift change • Service will be available from next day of arrival from Host town till mid-day of day of Closing Ceremony • Service will not be available during the HOST TOWN process. • Service will not be available for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies • Vehicles can only be driven by the assigned driver • The provided car can only be driven within the limits of Attica County (Athens greater area, including Schinias and Markopoulo.) • Dedicated vehicles can only be used for Games associated functions & tasks • AHODs will have access to same car/driver provided to their respective HOD

Transport Arrangements – Other members of Official Delegations • Arriving at Athens by Air • Shuttle Service from Arrivals Terminal to DWC • Dedicated load zones at the Airport terminal • GOC staff will facilitate embarkation • Delegations members will be assisted by GOC staff to carry their luggage to the buses • Departing from Athens by Air • Shuttle Service from Accommodation sites to Athens Airport • GOC staff will facilitate embarkation at the Accommodation sites • Shuttles will drop-off outside of the Departures Terminal – GOC staff will not be present to assist with moving luggage

Transport Arrangements – Other members of Official Delegations • Host Town Program • Transport Service from DWC to Host Towns • Use of Private Coach-buses • Same day of arrival at Athens Airport • DWC will be the main HUB for transfers to Host Towns • Dedicated load zones will be available at the DWC • GOC staff will facilitate embarkation • Return from Host Towns • Use of Private Coach-buses • Same day transfers to final Accommodation sites • Directly from Mainland Host Towns • Via a central Hub from islands’ Host Towns

Transport Arrangements – Other members of Official Delegations • Competition Venues • Shuttle services operating according to a schedule • Use of public buses (OASA) • All passengers must be seated when travelling • Inter-Venue Shuttle • A connecting shuttle service will be available between : • Olympic Park (OAKA) • Hellenikon Complex • Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF) • Service level & availability • Games–time : from June 26th –July 3rd • Frequency : according to competition schedule • Time frame : Competition hours • Specific schedules - TBA

Transport Arrangements – Other members of Official Delegations • Opening and Closing Ceremonies • Arriving at the Stadium: • Private Coach buses will be available for the transfers of Delegation members from SOV’s & hotels directly to the staging area, neighboring to the Stadium • Departure schedules must be followed strictly • Transfers will commence 4-5 hours before the start time of each Ceremony • HODs & DALs travel in the same vehicles together with rest of Delegation members • GOC staff will facilitate disembarkation and guidance to the staging area • Departing from the Stadium: • Delegation members living in same accommodation site must depart together as a team in the same bus • HODs or assigned escorts, with support from their DALs, are responsible to split their team members accordingly. • GOC staff will guide delegation members to the appropriate load zones for embarkation • There will be no direct transfers to the Airport or other departure Gateway, at the conclusion of the Closing Ceremony.

Transport Arrangements – Other members of Official Delegations • Healthy Athletes Program • A connecting shuttle service will be available between : • Olympic Park (OAKA) and • Healthy Athletes program Venue • Service will run: • daily from June 26th –July 3rd • with hourly frequency • Specific schedule - TBA

Transport Arrangements – Families • Method of transportation: • Public Transport – free access for all Games Credential holders • Available Public Transport Systems: • Metro, buses, tram, and suburban railto/from the Airport: • under the umbrella of the Athens Public Transport Organization : OASA. • Athens urban area only • Limited shuttle bus service to independent & rural venues • Rural venues : Sailing, Open Water Swimming and Kayaking at Schinias and Equestrian at Markopoulo. • Alternatively, suburban buses (KTEL) can be used at a cost: • 4,00€ ticket cost for Schinias • 2,40€ ticket cost for Markopoulo

  12. Transport Arrangements – Families • Parking: • Limited parking space will be available, at the Sports Venues • At designated parking lots with GOC endorsed permits • Permits must be obtained in advance • Opening/Closing Ceremonies: • Use of public Transport, only • No parking or access permits for the Stadium will be endorsed. • Traffic Police will divert all private vehicles traffic, accessing the Stadium, away from the stadium.
