  2. ROMANIAN DANUBE SECTOR In Romania the Danube River has a length of 1.075 km., which means cca.44.4% of the total navigable length. On the Romanian sector Danube is divided in two parts according to the navigation clearance: 1. River Danube(km. 1,075 – km.175) - sector with retention regime (km. 1,075 – km. 863) - sector with free flows (km. 863 – km. 175)

DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY Improvement of the conditions for navigation on the Romanian – Bulgarian common sector of the Danube River (km 845,5 – km 375) About 23 bottlenecks Feasibility study has started in May 2007 End: July 2008 FS value: 2.5 MEURO (ISPA and state budget) Works execution: 2010 – 2013 Estimated value of works: 144 MEUR Romania: 70 MEUR (CF and state budget) Bulgaria: 74 MEUR

  6. Improvement of the conditions for navigation on Calarasi – Braila sector (km 375 – km 175) Technical project, EIA and tender documents Hydrotechnical works will start in 2008 and the first phase will end in 2010. Value of works, phase I: 37,7 MEURO DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

  7. DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY • Implementation of the topohydrographical measurements and signalization systems for the Romanian Danube sector 3 specialized ships acquisition Sensors for the floating signals Value: 5.1 MEURO (50 % EBI and 50% state budget) Start: February 2007 End: April 2008

Radiotelephone service on inland waterway, c. Internet service, d. Electronic navigation chart service. TI: Traffic Information a. TTI: Tactical Traffic Information b. STI: Strategic Traffic Information TM: Traffic Management a. VTS: Local Traffic Management (Vessel Traffic Service) b. NS: Navigational Support c. LBM: Lock and Bridge management CAS: Calamity Abatement Support

VP: Voyage Planning b.TPM: Transport Management c. PTM: Inter modal port and terminal management d. CFM: Cargo and fleet management ILE: Information for law enforcement ST: Statistics CHD: Waterway charges and harbour fees
