  2. Pic 1 Pic 2 Text Origins • The NLR originated in the California when the leader of the Aryan Brotherhood began to recruit members in the California youth prisons. The became the NLR and served under the Aryan Brotherhood from the 1970s until the Aryan Brotherhood was cracked down on by law enforcement. After that the NLR grew into their own gang, and landed on the police radar in 1990, as a prison gang.There is no known founder of NLR, but John Stinson was the leader of Aryan Brotherhood that began to recruit members into what would become NLR.

  5. Text Pic 1Pic 2 Territory Today • The NLR is a main methamphetamine dealer in southern California. They have a strong presence in California prisons, but are trying to spread East.

  6. Text Pic Ethnicity • The NLR is a believes in white supremacy, so it is mainly white. There has been recent tension in the gang of whether or not members must be all white, or if they can be half white and pledge allegiance to the white race.

Text Picture Prosecutions by Police/Feds • Four members were arrested in California in 2008 after someone reported to the police a man holding a gun screaming “Nazi Low Riders”. • They were held on gun, drugs, and weapons charges with gang enhancements • Steven Holt, one of the men arrested was a documented Low Rider with many white supremacist tattoos, the other three believed to be associates to the gang.

  13. Text Picture • Shayne A. Ziska was arrested in 2009 for conspiracy to smuggle drugs into NLR members. He also allowed gang members to abuse other inmates. He was sentenced to 17 ½ years.

  14. Text Picture Status Today • The gang is still active, yet there has been some inner turmoil lately about whether or not to admit people who are half white.

  15. Link Symbols • There is no mandatory tattoo. Many members display swastikas or other Nazi related symbols. The gang symbol varies in different places.
