  3. Secret Gardens Of Oxton • 12th May 2013 Oxton Village • The glorious gardens of Oxton are opened up, for one day only. Village shops, plant and craft stalls, cafes and pubs will all be open on the day. More information on: www.oxtonsociety.org.uk

  5. Light Night, Liverpool • 17th May 2013 – throughout the city • Over 50 of the city’s cultural spaces and venues will stay open late, staging a city-wide promenade of exhibitions, activities, installations and events.

  6. Battle Of The Atlantic Festival • 24th-28th May 2013 – waterfront • The 70th Anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic will be commemorated with a series of events in the city. Sunday 26 May will see a march through the city.

  7. Central Library Opening, Liverpool • 16th-17TH May – William Brown Street • Expect a night of a thousand stories, as Liverpool Central Library re-opens after a major, multi-million quid refurbishment.
