  4. Major Achievements 1993: The BBC Horizon episode “Assault on the male”, which drew heavily on Prof.Sumpter’s research, won an Emmy award and was given a special screening at the White House. 2011 2012

  5. Major Achievements 1993 2011: IfE wins the Queen’s Anniversary Prize, a National Honour, for the impact of its work on chemical pollutants, influencing national and international regulation of chemicals. 2012

  6. Major Achievements 1993 2011 2012: a peer-reviewed paper published in Science of the Total Environment finds that the Institute for the Environment is joint top in the world when ranked by the number of papers published that have been very highly cited.

  7. Major Achievements 2013 update… Dr. Andrew Russell was awarded the Royal Meteorological Society’s Michael Hunt Prize for excellence in science communication Our Head of Institute, Prof Susan Jobling, was a lead author on 2 important reports by the EEA and WHO/UNEP.

MSc in Environmental Science: Legislation and Management This programme focuses on environmental processes, their management and the regulatory framework from a theoretical and practical perspective. Training is given to students who wish to have a career as environmental managers with an emphasis on EU and international legislation and management practices.
