Key things to remember • Reactions can only reach equilibrium in a closed system – if the products can’t escape. • At equilibrium the rate of the forward reaction is equal to the rate of the reverse reaction. • The concentration of the reactants and the concentration of the products remain constant BUT they do not have to be equal.
