Conclusion • The Brain has control over the body through its connections with the Central Nervous system, the peripheral nervous system and the endocrine system • The Central nervous system consists of the brain and the spinal chord • The peripheral nervous system consists of the nerve connections into muscle and tissue from the brain and spinal chord • The brain communicates within itself through chemical messengers along neural pathways. It also links in with the endocrine system in the body to monitor the state of the body and to rectify any imbalances • Ultimately, all of human behaviour is a function of the brain The role of the endocrine system as the chemical messenger system within the body. Hormones as the chemical messengers and the endocrine system as the ‘Post office’.
