This study presents an advanced methodology known as Interrogative Kinetics aimed at enhancing catalyst characterization. Focused on the oxidation of furane over a Vanadium-Phosphate-Oxide (VPO) catalyst, the research involves multi-pulse transient adsorption experiments. By applying this approach, the basic kinetic coefficients of the catalysts in both oxidized and relaxed states are determined, allowing for a deeper understanding of catalytic processes. This methodology could have significant implications for chemical engineering and catalyst research.

Multi-Pulse TAP ExperimentFurane Oxidation over VPO CatalystFurane Basic Kinetic Coefficients over Oxidized and “Relaxed” Catalyst Furane/Argon mixture (9/1) was pulsed over oxidized VPO catalyst at 400˚C. After catalyst had been completely reduced, it was left under vacuum conditions for 14 hrs. The, furane was pulsed again.
