In this novel, the main character has to move from California with his mom to live a better life but he’s scared because he has to start all over not knowing whose there and because of his size he becomes venerable to just about everybody. The setting of this book makes it a historical novel. Attribute: Because the main character is going through high school being picked on by his age and size. End “Mom, I hate the kids in this neighborhood,” he said, bending his knees so he was as short as Darrell, “Everybody picks on me, Mommy.” Tyray’s voice became high-pitched, as if it he were imitating a young child. Then he heaved his chest and made several loud sobbing noises. Even his face twisted into a false display of sadness and hurt Tyray’s friends laughed so hard they could barely stand. Rage boiled within Darrell, so much so that tears welled in his eyes making him look as if he really was crying.
