  1. Things to do to get started (5 mins): • Take a PostIt note and write a question you have for the Christians of Cambridge and stick it on the whiteboard. • Make sure all the work we’ve done over the previous weeks is in your plastic wallet. • Take a piece of scrap paper and find as many words as you can using the letters: • “Buddhism”

  2. Buddhism Homework: Find out 5 facts about the life of the Buddha.

  3. Take a piece of blank paper and use a pencil and a ruler to lay it out as shown to the right. (5 mins) LO: Buddhism: The Three Marks of Existence

  4. Anicca – Everything Changes Buddhists believe that everything is in a constant state of change called anicca. Nothing stays the same, nothing is permanent. Some things change quickly, others change more slowly, but in the end everything will pass.

  5. Write the title Aniccain the top left section of your page. Now draw a picture explaining this idea. You are allowed a maximum of 10 words too. (5 mins) Anicca – Everything Changes Buddhists believe that everything is in a constant state of change called anicca. Nothing stays the same, nothing is permanent.   6. Dukkha – Everything is Unsatisfactory Buddhists also believe in Dukkha. This means that life is unsatisfactory. Just when we think everything is good, things will change and not satisfy us. That new bike that we thought would make us so happy will get old and not be as great as we thought it would.

  7. Write the title Dukkhain the top right section of your page. Now draw a picture explaining this idea. You are allowed a maximum of 10 words too. There is no unchanging “soul” in a human being that explains who a person is. People change every day – the person you are today is a little different to the person you were yesterday, who is different to the person you were 5 years ago.
