MathShooter3D • Purpose: • Making an educational game touch on the aspect of 3D graphics. • Teach children basic math while having fun playing a FPS • Learning game programming and design and how to utilize a game engine • Middleware: • Source SDK, Half-Life 2 Game Engine 2009 • Source Hammer Editor • Autodesk Soft Image Mod Tool 7.5 • Adobe Photoshop CS3
MathShooter3D: Intro • Game Design: • Genre: First Person Shooter • Concept: Players will aim a math-gun at monsters and shoot answers at them • Difficulty Levels: • Basic Level: Aimed at ages 6-8, Monsters are textured with simple addition and subtraction problems; Players shoot answers at them. • Advanced Level: Aimed at ages 8-10, Monsters are textured with a large number; Players shoot a divisor number at the monster to get it down to a prime number.
MathShooter3D: Gameplay Advanced Level: Divide for Primes Basic Level: Add and Subtract • Monsters will be textured with basic math problems or large numbers • Wrong answers make the equations • harder and the numbers bigger
