  4. Misplaced Participial Phrase • Buried in the yard, the dog dug up a bone. • The dog dug up the bone buried in the yard.

  5. Dangling Modifiers • Planning a picnic, the rain was saddening. • Planning a picnic, we were saddened by the rain. • Because we were planning a picnic, the rain was saddening.

  6. Misplaced Clauses • The bike is on sale this week that I want. • The bike that I want is on sale this week. • The pictures were of monkeys that we took. • The pictures that we took were of monkeys.
