This project focuses on enhancing Social Studies lessons in self-contained classrooms at Davidson Elementary. Mandated by CMS for the 2011-12 school year, the curriculum covers key areas such as Geography, Environmental Literacy, Economics, Financial Literacy, Civics, and Governance. With limited teaching materials, we incorporate innovative methods like newspaper articles with varying difficulty levels, engaging games, and puzzles to meet state standards. Support from the Autism Society of North Carolina enabled us to purchase necessary ingredients for related social studies activities.
