General Purpose • Enhance KM awareness and capabilities of project managers, M&E officers, Information officer and partners from the on going in Sub-Saharan Africa. • Many participants have not received any KM training before, we have adopted 2 specific and inter-related objectives • First is launch workshop and second is the learning sessions.

  3. Workshop Objectives • Better understand KM strategy, content, and implications for project works • Build capacity for doing KM at project and country program level (knowing some basic KM methods and tools)

  4. Workshop Objectives Cont.. • Reflect and share experiences on KM practices at project and program levels • Develop a draft KM action plan for enhancing knowledge documentation and sharing within the country program

  5. Workshop Design • Better understand KM, content, and implications for project works • Self introduction • Short presentation • Interactive sessions • Sharing experiences through panel discussions

  6. Workshop Design Cont.. • Building capacity on KM within programmes/projects • KM tools and products • Practical tools for harvesting and documentation • Understand current situation in the two regions and specific opportunities

  7. Workshop Design Cont.. • Reflect and share experiences • Progress and experiences • Challenges and possible solutions • Panel experiences from the field experience from networks and KM experts.

  8. Workshop Design Cont.. • Develop the two regional work plans and action plans • Collect key concerns and interests • Knowledge management survey and strategic reflection mainly in WCA • Use of KM tools to enhance interaction

  9. Workshop Methodology • Facilitators – Niang Thiendou and Roxanna Samii r.samii@ifad.org • Two reporters in English and French from WCA and ESA programmes – volunteers to help the organizers • Different KM methodologies to enhance sharing and networking

  10. Workshop Methodology Cont.. • Social Blog Reporting – IFAD and FIDAFRIQUE • Workshop proceedings – e-mailed to programmes in ESA and WCA • Presentation CDs – environmental friendly • Hard copies of important documents for work planning sessions
