  2. Objective: Review of relevant institutions and their responsibilities and capacities including available equipment and materials for forest fire fighting in the Seychelles

  5. Staff Department of Risk and Disaster Management (DRDM) • Staff : 6 DRDM • Equipment at Fire Brigade DOE • FNP of 8 within the Secretariat on Mahe, 6 at the Sans Soucis station, and 7 at Grand Anse Mahe. • Fond B’Offay: 16 responsible for both Praslin and La Digue. • A focal point for environmental issues is based on La Digue.

  6. Red Cross Society of Seychelles: • Staff of 6 & about 100 volunteers, 50 of which have training in disaster management. • Branches on Mahe, Praslin & La Digue Seychelles Fire Brigade • Work force of 126 men with a 3 shift system with 25 men per shift. • In the event of a large bush fire, around 50 men can be mobilised Emergency Brigade • 18 persons in each of the 25 districts on Mahe, Praslin and La Digue.

  7. Zil Air: • Pilots and support crew • Equipment: 2 helicopters, Type EC120B, single Engine, which carry a maximum of 4pax each. Helicopter Seychelles • 2 pilots & 2 support staff • 4 Bell 206 B3 helicopters, 2 cargo slings & 1 “bambi” bucket with a 300 litre capacity and designed specifically for the Bell 206 B3 helicopter.

  8. IDC Staff 18 (males) on the island SPDF Can mobilise 200 personnel, maintain in the field for up to 24 hours, after that sustained capacity will fall to 1/2 of that on a shift basis PDF: Staff of 100 and can deploy up to 25 SIF: staff of 15 from the Vallée de Mai on Praslin
