  1. Program Overview Inspiring city communities to experience the outdoors! Serving Lancaster, PA and Philadelphia, PA areas. 866-878-3595 (toll-free) www.letsgooutdoors.net info@letsgooutdoors.net

  2. Let’s Go Outdoors (LGO)Program Description • Outdoor themed, 60-minute, weekly activity program • Fun, interactive, educational, outdoor sessions (weather permitting) that promote learning, team building, family bonding, health, fitness, environmental awareness, and inexpensive travel • Created for those seeking to “try” or “ease” into outdoor activities (i.e., camping, hiking, fishing, etc.), especially amongst ethnicities with the lowest participation in these activities • Participation is open to individuals, families, and organizations

  3. LGO ProgramProvides Solutions Battles 4 key issues: • The lack of parent/guardian involvement with their child • The need for programming that offers physical activity amongst children (and adults) to combat obesity • The desire to have a program that doesn’t interfere with homework, but can possibly connect to it • The importance of increasing outdoor awareness within underrepresented populations, which can help lead to stronger interest in “the sciences” among minority children

  4. LGO Program Offers Solutions to Issue #1 • Issue #1: “My parents don’t take me to go on outdoor activities,” is the reason noted by 20% of children, ages 6-12, as why they don’t participate in outdoor activities.* (*Found in the “2009 Outdoor Recreation Participation Report “produced by The Outdoor Foundation) Solution/LGO Offers: • Requires parents to participate with their child • Program was designed for all ages – though, those aged 6-12, were in the forefront when Let’s Go Outdoors’ members created the weekly lessons and activities

  5. LGO Program Offers Solutions to Issue #2 • Issue #2: “Many American youngsters are not getting enough physical activity and parents are failing to make their children's health a priority, according to a new study.” (*Found in “Reuters Online News,” article published on 4/13/11 by Mr. Bernd Debussman, Jr. – http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/04/13/us-children-exercise-idUSTRE73C7R920110413) Solution/LGO Offers: • Each weekly session incorporates 15 minutes of low-impact exercise • Activity stations within each weekly session promote movement and light physical fitness

  6. LGO Program Offers Solutions to Issue #3 • Issue #3: “I have too much schoolwork,” is the number one reason, based on a survey asking participants of different ethnicities, ages 6-17, as to what keeps them from participating in outdoor activities. (*Found in the “2009 Outdoor Recreation Participation Report “produced by The Outdoor Foundation) Solution/LGO Offers: • An educationally based program – material learned in sessions can help with schoolwork • Designed as a weekend program to not interfere with weekday schoolwork

  7. LGO Program Offers Solutions to Issue #4 • Issue #4: “As the United States becomes a majority minority population, participation in outdoor activities among diverse groups is becoming increasingly important...” (*Found in the “2009 Outdoor Recreation Participation Report “produced by The Outdoor Foundation) Solution/LGO Offers: • Operates in two cities that have strong percentages of minority residents (primarily African Americans and Hispanics) • Hosts activity sessions in underrepresented neighborhood locations

  8. Other Program Benefits • One-of-a-kind program: • Is family-friendly and meant for those unfamiliar with outdoor activity • Provides educational outdoor activities on a weekly bases year-round • A “pre-packaged” program: • No need to design your own program – it’s already created, offering convenience, and is conducted by experienced facilitators • Travel offering of program: • Each month, an excursion, or short day trip, is offered to participants as an opportunity to apply the skills/lessons learned throughout the weekly sessions

  9. Experience the Program • Become a 3, 9, or 12 month Member: • We are a membership-based program for organizations, families, and individuals • Consider a 4-Week Trial Membership for Organizations: • Try the program at your school or business for four separate weeks (1 session per week) as a “test” to see how it operates and/or gain feedback • Offer “Site-Use” for the Program: • Visibility and promotion of your organization comes with “site-use” and we continuously seek new locations to host the program (Note: We are licensed and insured.) • Schedule an Individual or Group Presentation: • We would be happy to arrange for a representative to speak with you or your organization For questions, more information, or to arrange any of the above call us at 866-878-3595 or email info@letsgooutdoors.net.
