Places where suspect claims he was; where he seen to prior to, during and after the crime was committed for the purpose of checking his alibi. Places where evidence can be found. Other places as indicated by the peculiar circumstances of the case.

  3. Times of importance Time when fatal injuries was inflicted. Time of incapacitation. Time of death. Time body was discovered. Time crime was reported. Time of arrival of police at the scene. Time victim was last known to be alive. Times related to victim’s movement preceding death. Times relating to police activity.

  7. Time of death estimates in homicides investigation Algor mortis (body cooling) general rule: 1.5 degrees per hour- when room temperature is about 70 degrees. Factors: body temperature at the time of death; body size; clothing or covering; environmental temperature; immersion in water b. Rigor mortis ( Stiffening of muscle tissue) general rates (averages clothed adult; observable in small muscle first) factor: body temperature at death; environmental temperature; strenuous muscular activity;

  8. c. Livor Mortis rate: visible – ½ to 4 hours well- developed – 3 to4 hours maximum – 8 to 12 hours Factors Circulatory failure; chronic anemia o r acute blood loss;(lividity less marked) carbon monoxide poisonong; cyanide poisoning; case of rapid cooling; (water)
