Understanding OOSH Recreation Program Parameters for Effective Development

In the context of Out of School Hours (OOSH) services, understanding the unique parameters that dictate program development is crucial. Each service operates within specific circumstances influenced by factors such as budget, resources, and attendance patterns. This guide addresses how OOSH services differ from other children’s services and among themselves, examines the importance of developing a philosophy for the program, and considers environmental and human factors that shape program constraints and freedoms. By thoughtfully assessing these parameters, providers can create engaging and relevant recreational programs.
