  3. INTRODUCTION • Online registration through My Web Advisor in Campus Cruiser is the fastest and easiest way to register for classes at College of The Albemarle. The system offers many advantages. • You can avoid the lines and frustration of walk-in registration, save time, and have a better chance of getting the classes you need when and where you want them. • You can with your advisor’s help create a list of preferred sections before your registration date. Then, during the registration period you can finalize your registration with a few clicks of the mouse. • The Search feature allows you to find the sections you need quickly and easily by setting specific parameters (such as day, time and place) that will accommodate your schedule. • Students can register and pay for their classes online through My WebAdvisor on Campus Cruiser. • Students will have to follow the normal schedule for registration in the Registration Calendar . Students are encouraged to consult their advisor before registering online. TABLE OF CONTENTS

Caution Registering for classes not in your program of study will delay your graduation date.Financial aid will only pay for classes in your program of study.Students are responsible for knowing the course requirements for their program of study as well as the college’s academic policies and procedures. The college catalog and the Program of Study Curriculum Guides are available on the college’s web page. To view the catalog click go to Academics then Catalogs and Handbooks Important: Do you know your catalog of record? Your catalog of record is the catalog in use the year you started your current Program of Study. For example if you started COA in the fall 2011 semester then your catalog record is the 2011-2013 catalog. Make sure you select your catalog of record to ensure your taking the correct courses for your program of study Use Program Evaluationin My Web Advisor to check if you registered for the courses in your program of study.   5. HOW TO LOGIN TO CAMPUS CRUISER AND MYWEBADVISOR • Your student account must be activated before you can login to Campus Cruiser and My Web Advisor to register for classes. New student accounts are activated within one business day after application to College of The Albemarle. Continuing student accounts remain active for one year after the last semester attended. • Go to www.albemarle.edu and click on the Campus Cruiser link. TABLE OF CONTENTS

  6. Logging into Campus Cruiser • If have already logged into campus cruiser go to slide 8 • If you have never logged in to Campus Cruiser before or you have forgotten your user name or password please click on the Reset Password link under login help. TABLE OF CONTENTS

You will be prompted to type in your user name (first name underscore last name i.e. john_doe), your birthdate (mmddyy) no dashes or slashes, and your student ID #. Once you have set or reset your password click on thelogin icon. Type in your user name and password and click OK. TABLE OF CONTENTS

  8. My Web Advisor • You are now logged into Campus Cruiser. Click on the MyWebAdvisortab as shown below Note: If you simply want to search the schedule of classes, you do not need a user id or a password. From the Campus Cruiser homepage, before logging in, click on Search for Sectionsof courses you would like to take To see a alpha list of courses offered by campus go to COA’s website at www.albemarle.edu and click on the Course Schedules link. The course schedule provides an alpha list of courses by campus TABLE OF CONTENTS

HOW TO SEARCH AND REGISTER FOR CLASSES TABLE OF CONTENTS • Under the Registration section – Select “Search and Register” • On the Search and Register page you must select your search parameters. • Begin by clicking on the drop down arrow beside TERM and selecting the term for which you wish to register. • You must also select at least one other search parameter (such as subject, meeting after/before, day of the week, location etc.) • To narrow the search include the course number • Click SUBMIT to see your search results. See Course Section definitions on Slide 22

The system will return a list of sections based on the search parameters you entered. • Click the select box for the sections you wish to add to your list of preferred sections • If the status of the class is open that means seats are available and you can select the class by clicking in the box under the column Select Section*(s) • If you want to see more information about the class click on the link in the Section Name and Title box • You can also see textbook information and price • When you done selecting the sections you want click the submit button • * See Course Section information on Slide 22 TABLE OF CONTENTS

  11. The course section you have selected will be listed under your Preferred Sections. You can go back to search and select more course sections and add them to you list of Preferred Sections. The courses sections listed in your Preferred Sections are automatically saved. • Advising Tip: Once you have the courses you would like to take in your Preferred Sections you can e-mail your advisor to have them look over your selections. They have access to your Preferred Selections and can provide feedback on your course selections. It’s a good way to ensure you are taking the courses you need for your program of study. Your advisor is listed in My Profile under Academic Profile. • You may also delete a section from your Preferred Sections List by selecting RM-Remove from list TABLE OF CONTENTS

HOW TO REGISTER FOR PREVIOUSLY SELECTED SECTIONS TABLE OF CONTENTS • You can go to your Preferred Sections anytime by clicking on the Register/Drop Sections • To register for a course click on the drop down menu, select RG-Register, and submit • The course you have registered for will be listed under your Current Registrations

  13. WebAdvisor will return a Registration Results page. If you encountered no error messages, your status will show “Registered”. At this point you can click OK. You have completed your registration for the selected section(s). • If you encounter red error messages on the Registration Results page, you must resolve them as directed before you can proceed with registration. More information is provided in the Troubleshooting Tips on slide • You can also drop a section your have registered for within Register/Drop Sections as long as you drop before the first day of classesRegistering for classes not in your program of study will delay your graduation date.Financial aid will only pay for classes in your program of study. HOW TO VIEW YOUR ACCOUNT BALANCE • Click on Acct Summary by Term • Select a term by clicking on the drop down arrow click SUBMIT • Your account balance for the term will appear on your screen for review. • If you would like to see details on your charges or payments, click on Detailed Acct Statement, and then click Generate Statement. This will give you your account details for the previous year. TABLE OF CONTENTS

HOW TO PAY FOR CLASSESYou have two options for paying for classes online, Credit Card and E-Cashier Payment Plan • To Pay Online in Full with a VISA or MasterCard credit or debit card • On the WebAdvisor tab click Pay on My Account • Fill in the Full Payment Amount and select Payment Type using the drop down arrow and submit • Enter your credit card and other necessary information onto our secure network and submit the transaction.   16. HOW TO PAY FOR CLASSESYou have two options for paying for classes online, Credit Card and E-Cashier Payment Plan TABLE OF CONTENTS • Use our convenient payment plan – E-Cashier. There is a $25.00 fee for setting up the payment plan. Payments are deducted monthly directly from your checking or savings account or you can have your credit card charged. • Click on Set Up Payment Plan • Click on the link labeled “Click here to visit the E-Cashier page” on the lower right hand side of the page. • Enter your information in the boxes provided (Note: Date of birth must include the slashes MM/DD/YY) • Click on the Calculate Tuition box • Click on the E-cashier link • Follow the instructions (Note: You may include the cost of your books). • If you need assistance, have questions, or need to make any changes, please • contact Jessica Sawyer at 252-335-0821 ext. 2510 • You may also pay in Person – we accept cash, checks and VISA or MasterCard payments at all three COA campuses. HOW TO DROP AND ADD CLASSESFROM YOUR PREFERRED SECTIONS LIST • TO DROP A CLASS FROM YOUR PREFERRED SECTIONS LIST: • Click on Register/Drop Sections, then • In the Preferred Sections List select RM-Remove From List and • Click SUBMIT • Your updated Preferred Sections list will display. • Click OK to return to the main menu. • To drop a class you have registered for go to next slide. HOW TO DROP AND ADD CLASSES YOU HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR • TO DROP A CLASS THAT YOU HAVE ALREADY REGISTERED FOR: • Click on Register/Drop Sections, then • Click Drop box next to the class you wish to drop and SUBMIT • (If the class has started you must contact an advisor) TABLE OF CONTENTS

  19. PROGRAM EVALUATION Program Evaluation allows you to see what classes are still outstanding for your degree. In addition, you can use Program Evaluation to see what would happen if you were to change your Program of Study. Select Program Evaluation from MyWebAdvisor – then click on the radio button for Active Programs to see how you are progressing with your degree OR click on the drop down arrow on the What if I changed my program of study? Click on the drop down for courses to include. It is recommended to Include All Work. Click SUBMIT. TABLE OF CONTENTS

PROGRAM EVALUATION Choose the Catalog Year (Catalog of Record) and Click SUBMIT Students are responsible for knowing the course requirements for their program of study as well as the college’s academic policies and procedures. Besides the college catalog and the program of study curriculum guides the Program Evaluation of your transcript and your advisor are the best resources to ensure your progress toward graduation. Catalog of Record: Your catalog of record is the catalog in use the year you started your current Program of Study. For example if you started COA in the fall 2011 semester then you catalog record is the 2011-2013 catalog.   22. COURSE SECTION INFORMATION HOW TO SEARCH AND REGISTER FOR CLASSES TABLE OF CONTENTS To view the course schedule go to COA’s website, click on Academics, and then on Course Schedules. Click on the semester you want to register for. Notice the Section Session column. Sections are assigned by campus location and indicate if they are face to face, hybrid or internet courses. To register online you need to know how sections are defined. The following information on course sections will assist you in registering for the right course at the right campus whether online or face to face. N = Internet – classes are taken online. You may need to come to a campus to take mid-terms and/or final exams. Different sections are listed as N, N1, N2 etc. in HY = Hybrid – classes are both face to face and online. The schedule will show the days, times and location of the face to face portion. HY1, HY2 = face to face portion is offered on the Elizabeth City campus. HYA, HYB = face to face portion is offered on the Dare County campus. HYW, HYX = face to face portion is offered on the Edenton-Chowan campus.
