  1. Who am I in Christ (3) I am significant Spiritual day 16.03.2013

  2. 1. I am the salt and the Light of the world 13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Matt 5:13,14

  3. 2. I am a branch of the true vine and a channel of His life “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. Jn 15:5

  4. 3. I have been chosen and appointed to bear fruit You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. Jn 15:16

  5. St. Cyril of AlexandriaThis excerpt from Saint Cyril of Alexandria's commentary on the Second Letter to the Corinthians (Cap. 5, 5-6, 2: PG 74, 942-943) And so Saint Paul shows deep insight when he says: This is all God’s doing: it is he who has reconciled us to himself through Christ. For the mystery of the incarnation and the renewal it accomplished could not have taken place without the Father’s will. Through Christ we have gained access to the Father, for as Christ himself says, no one comes to the Father except through him. This is all God’s doing, then. It is he who has reconciled us to himself through Christ, and who has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

  6. 4. I am a personal witness of Christ • But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

  7. 5. I am God’s temple 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? I cor 3:16

  8. St Cyril of AlexandriaThis excerpt from from a commentary on the gospel of John (Lib. 10: PG 74, 434) by Saint Cyril of Alexandria After Christ had completed his mission on earth, it still remained necessary for us to become sharers in the divine nature of the Word. We had to give up our own life and be so transformed that we would begin to live an entirely new kind of life that would be pleasing to God. This was something we could do only by sharing in the Holy Spirit.

  9. 6. I am a minister of reconciliation 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

  11. 7. I am God’s co-worker We then, asworkers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 Cor 6:1

  12. St Cyril of AlexandriaThis excerpt from from a commentary on the gospel of John (Lib. 10: PG 74, 434) by Saint Cyril of Alexandria The strength they received from the Spirit enabled them to hold firmly to the love of Christ, facing the violence of their persecutors unafraid. Very true, then, was our Saviour’s saying that it was to their advantage for him to return to heaven: his return was the time appointed for the descent of the Holy Spirit.

  13. 8. I am seated with Christ in the heavenly realms And raised usup together, and made ussit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, Eph 2:6

  14. 9. I am God’s workmanship  For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them Eph 2:10

  15. St Cyril of AlexandriaThis excerpt from Saint Cyril of Alexandria's Commentary on the gospel of John (Lib. 10, 2: PG 74, 331-334) From Christ and in Christ, we have been reborn through the Spirit in order to bear the fruit of life; not the fruit of our old, sinful life but the fruit of a new life founded upon our faith in him and our love for him. Like branches growing from a vine, we now draw our life from Christ, and we cling to his holy commandment in order to preserve this life. Eager to safeguard the blessing of our noble birth, we are careful not to grieve the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, and who makes us aware of God’s presence in us.

  16. 10. I may approach God with Freedom and confidence In whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Eph 3:12

  17. St Cyril of AlexandriaThis excerpt from Saint Cyril of Alexandria's Commentary on the gospel of John (Lib. 10, 2: PG 74, 331-334) so, by bestowing on them the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, the only-begotten Son of the Father, gives Christians a certain kinship with himself and with God the Father because they have been united to him by faith and determination to do his will in all things. He helps them to grow in love and reverence for God, and teaches them to discern right from wrong and to act with integrity.

  18. 11. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13
