FEDERAL FACILITIES • US Government owns substantial amount of real estate • 32,000+ facilities • 400,000+ buildings owned or leased • 675 million acres • 30% of USA by acreage • Environmental requirements apply to over 8,000 facilities
EPA Data Access • Much of EPA’s compliance data is now online • ECHO: Enforcement & Compliance History Online • 2 years of data for 800,000 facilities, including federal facilities • Available to public, including your surrounding communities

ECHO • Options for searches: • Facility Info: name, SIC code, Federal facility • Geographic Info--city, State, county, EPA Region, zip code, Indian land • Inspections and Enforcement Actions: none or up to last 2 years • Current Compliance Status: violations or none • EJ factors
Federal Agency • Additional information available to EPA and State regulators and Federal employees • FACTS = Federal Agency Compliance Tracking System • FACTS is part of Online Tracking Information System (OTIS) • Free , however, users must register to use OTIS/FACTS • Go to http://www.epa.gov/idea/otis/register

Detailed Information • Information available on: • Inspections: up to 5 years • EPA & State enforcement actions, including penalties: up to 5 years • Violations: up to 2 years • Use to track resolutions of violations or enforcement cases
Detailed Facility Information • Detailed Facility Reports • List all ID numbers for facility (even if names on permits differ slightly) • Significant violations shown in Bold and Red; easy to see possible problem areas • Report Error button: use to electronically report errors to EPA and states • List of “Data Stewards” at EPA and States: a human to contact for more information
