  2. Eternal Life Is A Lofty Goal • Initial salvation is the beginning – John 3 • Keeping saved is just as important - 2 Peter 2:20-22 • Note the intensity of Paul on this point - I Cor. 9:16-27. • Some thoughts to help:

  3. Realize We Can Lose Our Inheritance • This shouldn’t terrify us, but should make us cautious. • Simon – Acts 8:5-24 • Galatians were cautioned – 5:4 • “Save the erring” – Gal. 6:1; James 5:19f

  4. Watch Out For “Doubtful” Things • Rom. 14:23 • Live like a new creature – 2 Cor. 5:17 • Walk in newness – Rom. 6:4 • Sow to the spirit – Gal. 6:7-8 • Watch associations – I Cor. 15:33

  5. Keep In Touch With God • Let Him speak to you – 2 Tim. 2:15 • You speak to Him – I Thess. 5:17 • We need forgiveness, guidance, and need to give thanks. • Don’t forget “worship”.

  6. Is He First? • Matt. 6:33 • Don’t compromise with error. • Phil. 3:7-8 • Would you sacrifice pleasure, titles and such for Him?

  7. Be “Doers” of the Word • James 1:22 • Faith is shown by our actions – James 2; Matt. 25 • “Visit” the fatherless and widows – James 1:27 • The world judges our religion by our actions. What do they think of yours?
