  1. Instructions for exam Spread out. If possible, do not sit next to anyone. 2) You must write your Name, student id # & Seat number (Letter & #) on cover page of your exam 3) Do not copy or look at your neighbors’ exams. This is cheating. 4) Do not have a cell phone, computer or tablet turned on. This will be interpreted as cheating. Cheating is unacceptable behavior for professionals and will not be tolerated. When we have verified hard evidence that a student has been cheating, that student will fail the exam, the class, and the case will be referred to the Dean of Students with my recommendation for expulsion from the University. Fair warning.

  2. Errata • On problem #2: do not assume the molecules stay in the conformation shown, and you may designate the molecules as “aromatic,” “anti-aromatic” or “neither.” For the “neither” case you do not need to give the number of pi electrons. • There are two problems designated as problem 8. That is the highest I able to count. • The second Problem 8 should actually read "Identify the following C-13 NMR as one of the following isomers by circling the correct structure (6 pts)." • On the extra credit problem: you do not need to synthesize the reagent(s) you use to introduce the hexyl group.
