  2. INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION A machine used for dyeing of fabric in rope form Jet dyeing machines came into existence with a purpose to minimize or eliminate the drawbacks of earlier machines like winch , jigger and beam dyeing units. Mainly used for dyeing of polyester using disperse dye. It is similar to winch dyeing and fabric is processed in continuous loop. The technique is especially useful for delicate polyester depending on the machine almost any weight, structure, or fabric type can be used. fabrics but

  3. OBJECTS To know the dyeing procedures To know about the mechanism of the machine To know about the maintenance of the machine

  4. Advantages 1. Dyeing time is short compare to beam dyeing 2.Production is high compare to beam dyeing machine. 3. Low consumption of water 4.Short dyeing time 5.Can be easily operated at high temperatures and pressure. 6. Comparatively low liquor ratios, typically ranges between 1:4 and 1:20 7.Fabrics are handled carefully and gently.

  5. Disadvantages 1.dyed in rope form so there is a risk of entanglement 2.Equipment and maintenance costs are high 3.some fabric may be abraded in the process 4.Chance for crease formation 5.foaming can be a problem

  9. DYEING PROCESS DYEING PROCESS In eliminated. A closed tubular system exists where the fabric is placed. For transporting the fabric through the tube a jet of dye liquor is supplied through a venture. The Jet creates turbulence. This helps in dye penetration along with preventing the fabric from touching the walls of the tube. As the fabric comparatively higher concentrations of liquor within the transport tube, so little dye bath is needed in the bottom of the vessel. This is just enough for the smooth movement from rear to machines generally employs a driven winch reel along with a jet nozzle. the Jet dyeing machine the reel is completely is often exposed to front. 17. Features Dyeing in rope form Both material and liquor is moving Fabric speed usually 200-250 m/min jet dyeing can usually operated up to 1400c under high pressure capacity capable of dyeing 100 to 150 kg of fabric at a time

  18. Schematic diagram of Jet Dyeing Machines

  19. MACHINERY PROCESS MACHINERY PROCESS 1.The solution is filled in the dye tank and it reaches the heat exchanger where solution can be heated which then pass onto the centrifugal pump and then to the filter chamber. 2.The solution will be filtered and reaches the tubular chamber. Here the material to dye will be loaded and the winch is rotated so that the material is also rotated. 3.Again the dye liquor reaches the heat exchanger and operation is repeated for 20-30 minute at 135°C. 4.Then dye bath is cooled down, after material is taken out.

  20. Controlling point Motor rpm: Motor rpm should check to maintain the proper revolution as we need. Proper movement of roller: Every free roller should move freely as required . We need to ensure the free movement of these rollers. Proper concentration: Without even concentration the dyeing will not give even shade. So we have to look at proper concentration of the dye bath. Temperature maintain: We temperature of dye bath by steam or other utilities. So it should be maintained have to maintain proper Activate the valves: Different valves should be active properly. So we have to inspect them to prevent failure.

  21. Controlling point Proper guide & tension: The guide roller & tension roller are bound to give proper guide & tension Proper movement of winch: Winch should move freely. So we have to inspect it Roller movement : different roller like feed roller , let off roller etc. should move smoothly as required

  22. Maintenance Schedule SL. NO. Maintenance Work Time Interval 01 Steam pressure regulator checking Every hour 02 03 Cleaning of the roller Checking the water pipe Every batch unloaded Everyday 04 Checking the motor & electric connection weekly 05 Greasing & oiling in roller bearings & gears weekly 06 Cleaning the steam inlet &outlet pipe Checking the bowl weekly 07 Every hour 08 Checking the efficiency of fabric Every hour

  23. DEVELOPMENT IN JET DYEING MACHINE 1.Soft flow jet- slow motion of fabric. Suitable for knitted fabric 2.Super jet dyeing machine- M:L is 1:1 3.Aerodynamic jet dyeing machine 4.Jet created by mixture of air + water 5.M:L is 1:1 , drain out at a 130c 6.Multi-nozzle sot flow jet dyeing machine

  24. LIMITATIONS OF JET DYEING MACHINE LIMITATIONS OF JET DYEING MACHINE 1.High initial investment and maintenance cost. 2.Limited accessibility during the dyeing process. 3.Foam forming substance is to be avoided 4.In case cloth breakage, re-threading is complicated.
