This document provides an extensive overview of B-band filters used in astronomical photometry, detailing their construction, properties, and variations across various photometric systems. Referencing work by notable researchers and organizations, it includes historical developments, advancements in filter technology, and practical applications in CCD astronomy. The report references different studies, figures, and resources to showcase a spectrum of B-band filter designs. It aims to guide astronomers in selecting the most suitable B-band filter for their observational needs, particularly for upcoming projects requiring high precision.

Conclusions • There are a variety of B band filter profiles • One has a large asymmetry towards the red • Most are nearly symmetrical • Best choice for SNAP needs to be explored • In our longest NIR passband, a redward extension is a serious contributor to our dark current owing to thermal tails of warm objects within our telescope • We should explore symmetrical passbands Lampton B-band filters
