  12. Joint IA/IPR Meeting No meeting held, MOIMS IPR not present for meetings Propose combining all interested participants into new ISA WG that is being chartered, MOIMS AD has stated no objection Joint SM&C / IA Meeting Present the space Information Services Architecture (ISA) reference model, the registry service architecture and its relationship to the rest of the CCSDS services Discussed the relationship between the SM&C “directory service” and the ISA framework Agreed to coordinate with SM&C To demonstrate implementation of the SM&C Directory service using the ISA Registry reference model and prototype implementation To evaluate the SM&C MAL as a possible messaging layer for ISA, along with HTTP Sec WG / SDLS Meeting Joint meeting was productive and work is largely on track Have identified no “show-stopper” from security point of view with how and where the security block is to be inserted in the space link frames Details reported by SDLS WG chair in SLS report Will require resources for interoperability testing … • Systems Engineering Area Report D. Cross Area Meetings Nov 2010

  13. Systems Engineering Area Report D. Cross Area Meetings, contd • SEA / CSS Reference Architecture SIG • Relationship between CCSDS Reference Architecture and RASDS and ISA seems to now be quite well understood and agreed • There is agreement on a reference architecture framework consisting of the RASDS Viewpoints (Enterprise, Functional, Connectivity, Communications, Information), with an added Service Viewpoint ala the Cross Support Services Architecture (also used in IOAG SISG efforts) and some expansion of the Information Viewpoint ala the RASIM • Growing recognition that there is a need for the sort of UML or SysML architecture modelling framework that was halted in the earlier RASDS work • SEA recommends adopting a streamlined approach that focuses immediately on two items: • Revisit the RASDS and quickly develop the conceptual framework for modeling the Service Viewpoint and the extended Information Viewpoint • Work with the ESA modeling team to refine the set of viewpoint specifications that they apply to the ExoMars modeling effort, which is intended to verify the framework and provide useful models of ExoMars Nov 2010

  19. Quoted from Procedures Manual, A02.1-Y-2.1a • 1.4.2 b) Consensus. • The entire CCSDS technical organization is run by a process of consensus, and it is the CESG that decides if the standardization process has come up with a result that reflects a real consensus. • Consensus does not necessarily mean that unanimous agreement has been reached, but that the result incorporates the best set of compromises that all parties can agree to. • 1.4.3 CESG Responsibilities • h) reviewing requests from ADs to advance specifications in their Areas along the various document tracks, and making consensus recommendations to the CMC when it feels that documents and related materials are ready for publication as CCSDS products, in their various interim and final stages of maturity; Nov 2010
