  2. Celebrating 10 years VLP Advocates

  3. In 1999, law students who serve on the University's Community Service Board began to discuss ways in which law students could help deliver legal services to those Pima County residents most in need of civil legal help. In the fall of 1999, the Volunteer Lawyers Program and the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law formed a unique partnership called the VLP Advocates. In the fall of 1999, the Volunteer Lawyers Program and the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law formed a partnership called the VLP Advocates.

During the 1999 school year, As the program has grown, 1 law student law students now touch approximately 1,100 volunteered her time through the VLP. 10 clients every year, years later, almost 150 law students 1/3 each year. volunteer with the VLP of the total cases handled by the VLP annually.

  5. The programs now served by the VLP Advocates are: Bankruptcy Court Reaffirmation Hearings Domestic Relations Clinic Minor Guardianship Project Outreach Clinic Self Service Center Project

  6. All of this is in thanks to the UA James E. Rogers College of Law faculty, administration & staff with special recognition to Dean Toni Massaro & Martha Fenn for guiding the program through its first 10 years.
