  7. Revision of the legal framework in the field of biomedicine • Penal Code, 2002,e.g. human cloning is forbidden • Transplantation and Organ Tissues Act, 2002

  8. Oviedo Convention and its Protocols on Practices • Convention well known among medical doctors • Usually seen as a legal instrument which one has to follow

  9. Ratification • The signing and ratification of the last two protocols isn’t considered to be a priorityat the political level. • There is no legal incompatibility with our legal framework.

  10. Current activities • The National Council on Bioethics has made the proposal to the Minister of Social Affairs to start the signing and ratification process of the two additional protocols concerning biomedical research and genetic testing for health purposes.
