Progress Report:A General Purpose Metadata Catalogue Service Yeh-Ching Chung System Software Laboratory
A General Purpose Metadata Catalogue Service • In a grid infrastructure, extensible, reliable, high performance Grid services are required to support registration and query of metadata information. • An independent, non-application-specific implementation of Metadata Catalogue Service favors component reusability, regularity and design simplicity. • Any application which requires frequently manipulation of Metadata should benefit from the presence of Metadata Catalogue Service. • Implementation cost • application interoperability • etc. SSLAB
Current Progress • Surveyed and surveying: • Data steaming techniques and applications. • P2P infrastructures and applications. • OGSI (open grid service infrastructure) specifications and experimenting with some basic grid web services. • Working out APIs for the Metadata Catalogue Service. SSLAB
