  1. Horizon Wimba classroom meetingNovember 28, 2007 Damon Ing Project II presentation

  2. Presentation project #2 • I will define the terminal or ultimate goals of the project and tell everyone what I have planned to accomplish. • What I have accomplished in Part II • How does it differ from my initial plan. • Tell about my rationale for the instructional design by using one of my modules as an example. • What lessons I have learned.

  3. Project #2 (cont) The terminal or ultimate goal was for my students to grasp more knowledge and experience in the field of DWI enforcement in the State of Texas. This would be achived from a distance learning course through the internet and would cover topics such as, traffic stop safety, DWI detection, Blood and Breathe evidence, and trial litigation.

  4. Project #2 (cont) • I have accomplished many things in project #2. I created a webpage that defined the terminal and enabling objective of each lesson and provided its perspective lesson. • Developed an action plan also listing a calender in which to achieve these lesson objectives. • A performance problem was addressed and issued. • A viable solution was defined and the deliverables were also defined as well.

  5. Project #2 (cont) • The end product does not differ much from my initial plan. • Although it does look very different than those displayed in project#1. • Project one was the general outline of what was to the produced. • The project #2 in a website format made it look more professional and easy to comprehend. • More text was included in project 1 as in project 2 and my initial plan seemed more cognitive and document based as project #2 seemed more user friendly and in a format most people could relate too.

  6. Project #2 (cont) • My rationale for the instruational design was to be simplistic as much as possible and to provide the student with clearly defined lessons. • For example in module 1 a student was provided an example of proper patrol unit placement in various types of traffic stops. The students were to simply explain and demonstrate their understanding by providing the instructor a rough sketch and photograph they took with a digital camera displaying how to properly park a patrol unit. • This is a beginning lesson in the DWI investigation process, without proper patrol placement DWI investigation cannot begin due to being unsafe for both the officer and the subject.

  7. Lessons learned • I have learned that this was not as easy as I first thought • Simplistic and clearly defined examples are the way to go • As Dr. Pan states, “ There is no reason to reinvent the wheel”. • As long as the Terminal and enabling objectives are clear the rest should fall into place • Proofread, Proofread, Proofread • Assessment tools should come with instructions or directions • Project planning is PARAMOUNT.
