  1. Searching for High Quality Stainless Steel Bench That is Right for Your Food Business? Rolling out a food service business is not simple – in any way. Starting from chalking out the business plan and deciding the menu, to finalizing the layout of the kitchen and customer areas, buying the right commercial kitchen equipment, employing the right staffer and chef - the whole process is hectic and requires quite a lot of work. Missing out on smaller things is not unexpected when you must focus on so many critical aspects of your business. The benches are one of the kitchen utilities that are often overlooked without realizing the essential jobs they perform in any kitchen. A high-quality counter can make the perfect workstation for your chef or the best platform to keep the raw vegetables, before and after washing. Depending on the size of your kitchen, you might need more than one worktop. To find the right stainless steel bench for your business, keep the following points in mind.

  2. The stainless steel quality When it comes to equipment for a restaurant kitchen, stainless steel is always the material of choice. Why? Because it has certain features that make it ideal for the heavy-duty tasks of the commercial foodservice business. It is highly resilient by nature and resistant to corrosion. More to the point, this alloy is easy to clean, maintain and is hygienic apart from the sleek and smart look it adds to the cooking area. However, every stainless steel is not the same. Depending on the different elements added with iron to produce the alloy, the features of the alloy vary considerably. The three commonly used stainless steel varieties are type 316, type 304 and type 430. While type 316 is the most resilient, it is also highly expensive. On the other hand, 430 is not well-resistant to corrosion and also lacks the resilience to survive heavy-duty commercial use. Type 304 is the best material you want for your kitchen equipment. So, when you are buying a bench for your food business, make sure that it is made of type 304. Type 316 is even better quality-wise, but it is more apt for stainless steel sinks in salt-water areas due to its extreme corrosion resistant properties. The purpose and specifications

  3. The next point to consider is the purpose. In a food service business, a stainless steel counter can have multiple applications. It can work as a stand for your benchtop equipment or as the chef’s workstation, or as a platform beside the sink to dry the washed utensils. You must select the counter according to the intended purpose. The height, width and depth are the specifications you should check before buying the worktop. While the width and depth should match the area where you plan to fit the utility, the height should be adjustable. For a narrow space, a counter with less depth is undoubtedly more useful, but a variant with more depth will naturally give you more room to work on. Even if you have sufficient space, you do not always need to buy a wider model. Consider the use; you do not want the bench to take up a lot of space in your kitchen. So, choose wisely. The other specification to consider is the splashback. Worktops with splashback are popular in the foodservice industry because they efficiently guard the wall against possible food or water spillage and makes cleaning easy. 150mm is the standard splashback height, but you might get a model with a smaller or broader splashback. However, if you are looking for a bench to install stainless steel shelves over it, you might not need a splashback version. So, pick according to your purpose. Always remember that any good quality stainless steel bench that fits your purpose perfectly is the right bench for your business.
