  2. Manners in Italy: • Italian people kiss each other on the cheek as a greeting • They are very physically expressive • They also shake hands as a greeting to strangers and foreigners • They do not eat with their fingers

  3. Manners in Qatar: • The usual greeting for men is to kiss repeatedly on the cheeks • Qataris, unlike western people, do not like to rush things • Always use the right hand while eating and shaking hands

  4. Traditional Housing in Italy: • Limestone houses with domed or conical roofs, high ceilings, tiled floors, wooden shutters and thick walls are all features of traditional housing in Italy.

  5. Traditional Housing in Qatar: Traditional Qatari houses are a sandy colours, and have flat roofs.

  6. Traditional Food in Italy: • Herbs, pasta, pizza, chicken, veal, seafood, fish, bread, salads, fresh fruit, cheese, Italian ice-cream and Italian wine.

  7. Traditional Food in Qatar: • Rice, meat, ‘matchboos’, hamour, hummus, cow or goat milk, dates and coffee.

  8. Similarities: • Qatari and Italian people both only shake hands with foreigners and strangers. • Family is very important to both cultures, as well as food.

  9. Differences: • The houses are different because in Italy the roofs are domed, and in Qatari the roofs are flat. • Qatari people are usually quite quaint and reserved, whereas Italian people are very loud and expressive.
