  10. Section 2 Differentiators

  11. Key differentiators • Demonstrated ability to expand globally. The company started in California in 2003 and today we have participated in the following markets: California, Nevada, Colorado, Ohio, New Jersey, New York, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and we are currently developing 50MWp in Romania. We are also evaluating opportunities in Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, and India. • Proprietary Yield Optimization: The internal rate of return of any solar power plants is driven by its ability to maximize electricity generation and create efficiencies in power plant development, construction and maintenance costs. We developed our unique methods and techniques to optimize long term energy yield by enhancing sunlight capture and minimizing transmission line losses (“EYO”). Our power plants attain a higher internal rate of return thanks to our EYO. • Experience : Cost optimization and project delivery certainty: We have built over 1,000 solar photovoltaic projects in Europe and North America. Our expertise reduces project construction risk; and that is of special importance in the solar field where incentives are based on connection dates. In our history, not a single project has missed an incentive or an interconnection deadline. In addition, our expertise has helped develop strategies to optimize construction cost without sacrificing energy yield. • Technology & Product independence: We are not tied to any technology or product. We build power plants with the best products available in the market with the objective to optimize performance and costs. • European and American best practices: We benefit from the best practices from both continents. As an example, we brought to the US the energy yield optimization from our European teams and we have brought to Europe our quality control process and procedures. • International quality standard (ISO9001): Even though international quality standards are common in manufacturing processes, they are not common in the construction of solar power plants. We follow the strict ISO9001 quality standard which includes 200 point inspections throughout the power plant life cycle. • Scalability: Our business model allows us to align our construction approach with our customer’s needs by partnering with local organizations to attain site specific expertise and scalability.

  12. 1. Full breadth & depth of technical experience – technology neutral 2. Execute under pressure:Premier’s planning and operating efficiency allows it to execute under time pressures that are inherent to government incentive programs. Premier has built numerous plants against tight deadlines and never missed a tax or FiT cut-off. 1. Yield & Cost Optimization:With over 1000 solar systems built, Premier is able to pull from its vast experience in working with every type of technology and form of installation to design and build the optimal system at the lowest cost in each circumstance. 3. Adept to complex projects:After competitors have made their best attempt and failed, Premier has overcome the challenge to build plants under complex circumstances. At the Richmond Waste Water District, after Tier 1 manufacturer was hired then failed, Premier successfully built a plant atop contaminated ponds consisting of sinking soil.

  13. Proprietary Energy Yield OptimizationTM Increases investment IRR by up to 38% We build power plants not just solar systems. We design, engineer, procure and build with performance and efficiency in mind throughout the entire project cycle. One of the most important features in any solar power plant is its ability to convert the sunlight present at the site to electricity. An investor return can improve by up to 38% with our proprietary process called “Energy Yield Optimization”. Our power plants deliver an 85% efficiency compared to a 66% delivered by the world average. 14. Topological Yield Optimization process delivers highest efficiency 1. Yield Optimization:Over the years we have developed our own proprietary process, named “Topological Yield Optimization” or TYO, to ensure our power plants deliver the highest efficiency possible. 2. Fully integrated process:From the approved energy yield forecast to the operation an maintenance plan, the TYO covers all phases of the project. 3. Quality plan:The project quality plan covers every aspect of the TYO process to ensure what is planned, engineered and constructed delivers what the customer expects.

  15. Engineering more power. Get the most out of your system. Premier Power participates in both of the leading world solar markets, Europe and North America, and our customer’s benefit from what we learn on each market. 1. Track-record of delivering above average performance yields. Due to the structure of solar incentives in Europe, which is based on a 20 year performance, our engineers have mastered the design and configuration of solar systems to maximize electricity generation over the long term to provide our customers the highest possible return on investment (IRR). There are hundreds of variables that our engineers decide on when configuring your system. For example, the electrical industry accepts a 3% line loss - transmitting power from the solar modules to the utility connection point. At Premier Power we aim at a 1% line loss. What does it mean? A Premier Power Solar system generates $750,000 * more in yield per megawatt than our competitors. 2. Minimizing overall system costs. Due to the solar incentive structure in the US, which is based on total system cost, our engineers have mastered the optimization of solar system costs realizing balance of system (BOS) cost reductions below industry standard. From wiring, grounding and racking optimization to component selection and configuration. 3. High and medium voltage engineering. We are one of a handful of solar integrators that have experience connecting power plants to sub stations and high and medium voltage transmission and distribution lines. 4. Maximizing security of investment Selection of high quality system components based on many years of experience, and stringent laboratory and field testing. * A 1,000kW (MW) solar system can produce up to 1,806,000 kWh annually in Northern California. A 3% loss of electricity production at an average cost of $0.11 per kWh due to voltage drop or any other electrical engineered flaw translates to $153,000 over the warranty period of the system, not accounting for the time value of money. In areas where the feed in tariff is as high as $0.50kWh the revenue increase could be around $750,000.

  17. Quality Plan to ensure we deliver what the customer expects Best of Breed Very few solar EPC’s have met the strict operational standards necessary to obtain the ISO 9001 certification. Ability to Transfer Knowledge Premier has even obtained ISO 9001 certification at its Italian subsidiary, which was acquired in 2009, thus demonstrating the astute ability to replicate and transfer its knowledge and best of breed operating practices worldwide. Meeting customer expectations Every project has a specific quality plan to ensure we deliver what is expected and this standard is used across all the countries we operate..

  23. System Specifications Technology 87% efficiency (PR) for Chinese government Puglia | Italy Chinese Government Invs. fund The Laterza High Efficiency Solar Power Plant has achieved over it first year of operation a performance ratio over 85%. The project was bought the government owned Chinese investment fund CECEP. The fund expected in their financial model a 75% performance ratio. Today this plant has increase the IRR (internal rate of return) of this project by 30%. The performance was achieved as a result of Premier’s “Topological Yield Optimization” process.

  24. System Specifications Technology Too complex for tier 1 module manufacturer – Premier built in 45d Richmond | California One of the leading solar modules manufacturers in the world was originally contracted to build this plant. After they could not figure how to engineer and build a power plant that is 200 meters away from the ocean in area where the soil is like sinking sand, they hired Premier Power expertise. We designed a power plant with 89 dual axis utility scale trackers that direct the arrays towards the sunlight. The trackers are specifically engineer to avoid sinkage in the “bay mud” and is ballasted with a 40,000 pound base. Each tracker holds approximately 900 sqft. of solar modules.

  25. System Specifications Technology Utility scale - 17,280 CdTe panels (5MWequiv) built in 45 days Wilton | California When the main energy supplier of the Sacramento County chose to supply their customers with clean, renewable energy, they chose Premier Power to build this massive installation of First Solar CdTe solar modules. There are over 17 thousand panels mounted onto over 60 rows of stationary ground mount racking systems. These ground mounts are affixed to pylons driven into the ground, making the utility- grade power plant a “leave no trace” concret-less application.

  26. No one could deliver, but Premier delivered before drop in the Czech FiT 20MW Brno Airport | Czech Republic The 20MW Brno Project needed to be built before the drop in the Czech Feed in Tariff. Due to the high demand in Germany and Italy there was a shortage of solar modules and inverters in Europe. The Premier team deliver with all the adverse market conditions and the project was completed on time to qualify for the FiT.

  27. System Specifications Technology Converting a parking lot to a power plant for a major US utility Folsom St. San Francisco | California Another installation for PG&E, this innovative parking structure was expertly engineered as a dual use, moving structure. The engineering and design for this structure had to take into account the vehicles parked beneath it and the function of shading and protecting those while simultaneously moving the array towards the sun to capture the sunlight and increase the total system yield by 22%.

  28. Before Converting the façade of the building for a major US utility Folsom St. San Francisco | California Another installation for PG&E, this innovative building façade structure was expertly engineered to be integrated into an 30 year old building meeting all the difficult seismic requirement of the city of San Francisco and the utility company.

  29. System Specifications Technology Selling new technology – Establishing thin film in the market Zaragoza | Spain When Solyndra, a manufacturer of cylindrical CIGS solar modules, introduced its first generation product to the market it needed the market to accept its technology. Premier Power worked with Solyndra to help obtain market acceptance and as a result Premier Power built the world largest Solyndra installation.

  30. System Specifications Technology Otis elevators738kW, Non penetrating solar roof mount Madrid | Spain When OTIS Elevators decided to build its new production facility in Madrid, the company decided to offset part of the CO2 produced by the plant with a solar PV system. The system was engineered with a “non-penetrating” rack to support the solar modules. This innovative racking system sits on top of the roof and is held by its own weight. This type of system requires detailed calculations to account for point loads and wind forces for the particular location.
