  2. Finance Reporting Tools • Self Service Banner Finance • Real time access using a generic web-based client. • e~Print - Canned reports delivered with the Banner system. Run nightly. • INB(Internet Native Banner) - Full featured client for real time access to all of Banner. - Web based. • Discoverer Viewer - Web based reporting tool. - Pulls from the Operational Data Store (ODS) as of the end of the previous day.

Self Service Banner - Finance • Generic Web based client • Real time access • Provides extensive transaction detail • Budget Status by Account - Can get Available Balance for Budget Balance accounts only. - Cannot get balances for Fund Balance accounts. • Documents Retrievable: - Journal Entries - Invoices - Purchase Orders

  4. Self Service Banner - Finance • Accessible from Trailhead. First time requires password for synchronization. • Can export transaction and summary information to Excel. • Can drill down from summary level to transaction detail to document level.

  6. e~Print • Canned reports delivered with the Banner system. • Run nightly as of the end of the day. • Except for the INB client, this is currently the only tool that has a report for viewing balances for Fund Balance accounts. • Also the only place to see Payroll and A/R detail.

  7. e~Print • Accessing e~Print: Direct Link: https://eprint.mines.edu Requires Banner login and password. Same login as INB client. Trailhead: Click the Self Service icon First time only requires password.

  9. INB (Internet Native Banner) • What we use in the Controller’s Office • Real time access • Web based client • Self installs, but requires administrative rights to PC for installation. • Steep learning curve

  10. INB (Internet Native Banner) • Most functionality of any of the tools. • Most efficient way to navigate Banner Finance account data. • Banner INB Fundamentals CBT • On reserve in the Library. • Covers basic navigation of forms. • Controller’s Office is currently offering training

  12. Discoverer Viewer • Reports from the Operational Data Store (ODS) • ODS is a copy of Banner data that is refreshed nightly. • Web based client. • Accessible from Trailhead. First time requires password for synchronization.

  13. Discoverer Viewer • Allows us to publish custom reports. • Initial training currently being offered by IS. • Finance reports still in progress

Take-A-Ways • For Budget Funded accounts • Use either e~Print or SSB Finance. • For Fund Balance accounts • Balance only correct on e~Print: Fund Balance Checkbook Detail. • Use e~Print or SSB Finance for account detail. • Payroll detail and Tuition detail only on: • Budget Balance Checkbook Detail report. • Fund Balance Checkbook Detail report. • Cannot use Budget Status reports “Available Balance” for Fund Balance accounts. • ODS Discoverer Reports coming soon.
