What is the effectiveness of UNICEF aid in preventing and containing HIV/AIDS? • Aid allocation is directly linked to effectiveness • Political reasons vs. demonstrated need. • Countries that receive a higher amount of aid are more successful in raising awareness and preventing MTCT, but not in prolonging the life of those infected or in preventing the infection of adolescents.
