  2. Our objectives this morning To share the BC experience in large system redesign through primary care renewal: • Creating relationships to support improvement • Role of incentives • Need for a broad base of supports • Measurement to reinforce quality and forward movement

  3. British Columbia context • Approximately 2 x Spain • 4.2 million people • 5 regional and 1 provincial health authorities • Primary care is based in fee-for-service GP offices • Often solo, few nurses • Single payer – i.e. publicly funded, universal health system
