  1. HOW MANY CALORIES ARE THERE IN A DOUGHNUT? You can find doughnuts in different shapes, sizes and varieties, and the calorie content of a doughnut varies. Cake doughnuts contain about 198 calories if they are of medium size. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a glazed doughnut contains about 240 calories and 120 of those calories are from fat. A medium-size frosted cake doughnut has 251 calories, but if the doughnut is large, it can contain 327 calories. A small frosted cake doughnut contains 171 calories. A medium-size chocolate raised doughnut with frosting contains 275 calories. If it is a large doughnut, it contains 395 calories. A regular medium-size raised doughnut has 242 calories, but a large raised doughnut has 302 calories. Doughnuts filled with jelly are about 221 calories each. Doughnut holes can contain as little as 29 calories, but a frosted cake doughnut hole contains 95 calories.

  2. How does someone work out the number of calories they burn when running? The number of calories you burn depends upon your weight, the activity your are doing and the intensity level you are exercising at. Any activity that you perform can be done at a variety of intensity levels. If you exercise at a higher intensity level, you will be working harder, expending more energy and burning more calories than someone who is not working quite so hard. If a person with an average body weight is running the caloric expenditure will be between 116-131.

  3. If someone weighs 52.3 kg how many calories would they burn running 1 km? Show your working. The equation to find the caloric expenditure is .63X your weight for a person who is running in 3-4km per hour. That is .63X 52.3=32.949 per mile.

  4. How far would this person have to run to burn the calories that are in a doughnut? Show how you work this out. If a person will eat cake doughnut he will get 198 calories and to spend this according to me he should run 6km. That is 6X33 calories=198 calories.

  5. How can knowing how to do arithmetic with decimals help you make good health decisions? Before I eat any food item I have to check the amount of calories contains in the particular food item and how much calorie needed for my body for the particular activity.

  6. Which part (or parts) of the Learner Profile could arithmetic with decimals help you to develop? The formula which I found to calculate the caloric expenditure help me to develop this Lerner profile.
