VIVO Support Plan – Update • VIVO requested CDG assistance to maximize the value of their C2K network • Sprint Nextel will support VIVO, if VIVO is committed to making the necessary long-term investments to strengthen their CDMA business • Met with VIVO on March 28 at CTIA Wireless • Hilton Mendes, Director of Device Development, and Eduardo Aspesi, Marketing & Innovation • VIVO reaffirmed a commitment to CDMA and their interest in working to maximize the network and its service offerings • VIVO’s main focus in 2007 will be GSM, but they will continue with the EV-DO Rel 0 expansion (not Rev A) • VIVO identified the following CDMA network differentiators and areas of interest: • Position Location: • Launched WaveMarket CDMA family position location services • Planning to use CDMA network to track valuable cargo • EV-DO Broadband Data: • Enterprise (e.g., email) • Youth and early adopter market • Broadcast • ISDB-T broadcast services (with multimode CDMA2000 devices) • Other • Network Optimization • Services automation • Device aggregation efforts

VIVO Support Plan – Update • CDG briefed VIVO on: • Device aggregation and procurement efforts (GHRC/CCF) • EV-DO inter-standard roaming efforts (IRT) and availability of WorldModeTM devices • Automatic service codes and credit sharing (MiPhone, Jamaica) • VIVO welcomed the opportunity to meet with U.S. operators to discuss methods to further maximize the value of their CDMA network • Next steps: • VIVO to send an email reaffirming their commitment to CDMA and asking for long-term support • Schedule a visit to the U.S. for VIVO to meet with U.S. operators – organized by the CDG • Other meetings in Brazil to follow up on specific issues • News updates: • In the last few weeks, there have been strong improvements in the implementation of data roaming between Sprint Nextel and VIVO after a month without progress • Added 300K pre-paid subscriptions to GSM network in 3 months • “Vivo intends to continue with its traditional CDMA network. It is not our plan. . .at least for the foreseeable future. . .to deactivate our CDMA network," reported VIVO CEO Roberto Lima. • Portugal Telecom agreed to allow Telefonica to take full control of the JV • Spent $1B in 2006 for capital investments (50% to GSM). • Just approved another $851 million for capital investments in 2007

TNZ – Update • TNZ is studying the possibility of deploying a GSM/WCDMA network • Being considered to address global roaming • Telstra will decommission its CDMA2000 network in 2008 • Brand name WorldMode phones are still too expensive • Form factor, selection and pricing is not yet competitive • Vodafone is continuing to provide stiff competition • TNZ board meeting to review technology is scheduled for June: • As with previous board meetings, the migration to WCDMA will be discussed • Business case has not justified a decision to migrate to WCDMA • TNZ is discussing options with several other carriers • Telus visited TNZ to discuss device aggregation efforts • CDG has been meeting and addressing TNZ needs
