  1. The first page you will see is the GUEST PAGE Any user can see this page It will contain information about the NIIMLE And some services like news or regional weather NIIMLE registered users will login from this page

Once logged in the user is on the HOME PAGE Personal details are displayed here The user can access their ‘bookmarks’ or ‘favourites’ from this page And a personal diary or calendar There will be a number of tabs to chose from on this page The user can return to this page at any time by selecting the ‘Home’ tab

  3. The next page assumes the user selects PATHWAYS Multimedia courses in Northern Ireland FE & HE are listed Details such as course title, institution, mode of attendance, level and duration are displayed A number of the columns will contain links to additional information about the course or institution

  4. Imagine the user selects A COURSE The student has an interest in a specific course and now wants to find out more information Details such as location or campus, entry requirements, mode of assessment, tutor contact details, structure and content of course are provided Some data will contain links to further information or services, e.g. to a discussion forum where they can engage with a mentor at that particular institution

  5. Imagine the user is back at the home page and selects TRANSCRIPT The student will go to this page to see his or her learner record or transcript This transcript will present a record of the student’s achievements to date Details from both FE & HE courses will be aggregated on this cross-institutional transcript This can be printed and used in the usual way for application to additional courses or employment

  6. The user clicks on CAREERS This page provides an online careers service for the student Multimedia related employment opportunities will be presented here Institutional careers services can use this site as an additional method of disseminating information to students There will be links to professional bodies and potential employers from this page

  7. This page show has been a demo of someof the services of the NIIMLE The NIIMLE has the potential to provide many more services to the FE & HE sector in Northern Ireland Multimedia is the pilot subject area we have chosen The NIIMLE will expand beyond the current consortium institutions and will expand to new subject areas
