Configuring Firefox on your MAC using Coolkey If you are NOT familiar with Linux or Terminal DO NOT ATTEMPT THE FOLLOWING COMMANDS, have Tim or someone who knows what they are doing do this for you. Tim has no problems helping you and can setup a time to access your MAC remotely and will do it for you.

  3. Download mac-coolkey-1.1.0.zip to your computer using Firefox from: https://militarycac.com/MAC_Firefox/mac-coolkey-1.1.0.zip Open Terminal All commands must be entered as Root. To get into Root, type: Su Enter your Root Password then press Enter Should look something like: sh-3.2# Now copy the following commands: sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/lib sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/include sudo mkdir -p /usr/local/bin unzip “then drag and drop the mac-coolkey-1.1.0.zip in Terminal” Press Enter cd usr/local/CoolKey sudo cp -r lib/* /usr/local/lib/ sudo cp -r include/* /usr/local/include/ sudo cp -r bin/* /usr/local/bin/ Once that is done copy and paste this line into Firefox (or navigate to it) /usr/local/lib/pkcs11/libcoolkeypk11.dylib

  4. Click Firefox, Preferences…

  5. Click Advanced(gear), Encryption(tab), Security Devices(button)

  6. Click Load(button)

  7. Title it: CAC Reader Copy, then paste the following: /usr/local/lib/pkcs11/libcoolkeypk11.dylib into Module filename, then click OK

  8. Below Security Modules and Devices you will see CAC Reader with your name below it. This means it worked, Click OK

  9. Try going to a CAC enabled website via Firefox. Example: Air Force Portal https://www.my.af.milClick I understand the risks

  10. Click Get Certificate (button) then Confirm Security Encryption (button)

  11. Type your CAC PIN in the Password Required box, then select OK

  12. Select the Email Signature Cert (Air Force) AKO uses the NON Email certificate

  13. You should be logged in now. If you log off, you will be will be prompted to enter your PIN again
