Job Hunting? • The key to feeling confident in an interview for a job opportunity is to look the part. • Some tips to looking the part include an appearance that is clean, classy, and pulled together. • To accomplish this, men must be able to tie a half Windsor tie knot! • The goal of this instructional presentation is to teach the participant how to tie a clean looking half Windsor tie knot.

  3. Objectives • 1) Understand the importance of appearance during job hunting and interviews. • 2) Understand how to tie a tie in a half Windsor knot. • 3) Understand other events that will require the ability to tie a tie

  4. Similar Experiences & Prior Knowledge • Learning to tie your shoes is a monumental life step as a child – Tying a tie is the equivalent adult life step. • After mastering these life steps, you feel accomplished. • Mastering these life steps increases confidence and prepares you for future endeavors. • Tying a tie prepares you for a realistic adult career setting!

  5. Step One • Adjust tie to desired length • As shown below… Approx 12 in. between narrow and wide ends

  6. Step Two Cross wide end over narrow end • As shown below…

  7. Step Three Wrap wide end behind to the right and around narrow end • As shown below..

  8. Step Four Bring wide end up and pull down through loop and to right • As shown below…

  9. Step Five Bring wide end over to the left across narrow end • As shown below…

  10. Step Six Pull wide end up and behind through loop then down through front knot • As shown below…

  11. Step Seven Use both hands to adjust knot and tighten up to collar • As shown below… Use right hand to hold the narrow end behind, while tightening with left hand

Put the Steps in order • Adjust tie to desired length • Wrap wide end behind to the right and around narrow end • Use both hands to adjust knot and tighten up to collar • Bring wide end up and pull down through loop and to right • Bring wide end over to the left across narrow end • Pull wide end up and behind through loop then down through front knot • Cross wide end over narrow end • Step One • Step Two • Step Three • Step Four • Step Five • Step Six • Step Seven If you got them all correct then you are now a tie master!
