GENERAL INFORMATION • State Law and UIL Rules Prohibit Any Athlete From Participating Without a Physical. • Sudden Cardiac Arrest Awareness Form • All AISD & UIL Paperwork Must be Completed Prior to Participation • Any child who does not have this completed by Tuesday, September 3rd will be REMOVED from the Athletic Program.

  4. GRADING POLICY • The U.I.L. requires a student to pass every course in order to be eligible. • If a student fails a class for the six weeks, that student is INELIGIBLE to participate in games for at least three weeks. • If a student has ALL passing grades on his next progress report, he regains eligibility. • Ineligible students are still required to practice. • At Boles, a student may be removed from athletics if they fail 2 or more classes in 2 consecutive 6 weeks.

  5. GENERAL INFORMATION • AISD Policy Establishes that Jr. High Programs are Part of a Six Year Program. • Junior High Programs Teach Terminology and Systems that Mirror the High Schools they Feed. • We teach Martin High School schemes and techniques in all sports at Boles.

  6. GENERAL INFORMATION • Athletes must wear our PE/Athletic Uniform (shorts & t-shirt) • We furnish all equipment EXCEPT for socks, jocks, and cleats. • Socks should be white. • White, Black, or Blue cleats are preferred. • Make sure your athlete uses his locker!!!

  7. GENERAL INFORMATION • If your child is going to miss practice, the parent MUST notify Coach Drapeau by phone 682-867-8069, 682-867-8000 (leave message) or email: tdrapeau@aisd.net that day or prior. • If communicating by email, place ATTENDANCE in subject line. • Unexcused absences will result in lost playing time and/or removal from team.

  8. GENERAL INFORMATION • Athletes that have prescription inhalers may bring them to athletics. • They must have the proper documentation on file with the school nurse. • Inhalers must have child’s name on them. • We provide a place for them on the field. • Athletes need to pick them up after each practice.

  9. GENERAL INFORMATION • Practices are closed. Football parents can watch from behind the fence. • Parents are not allowed on fields during contests. • Cell phone policy is in effect during school hours. • If athletes lose equipment, you must pay for it. They must use their lockers!

  10. TICKET PRICES • $2.00 Adults • $1.00 Students • Season Passes $25.00. Good for access to all JUNIOR HIGH games excluding tournaments and playoffs. • AISD Employees and their spouses/children get in free.

  11. West Nile Virus • Please be alert to its symptoms. • If you or your child have symptoms that include stiff neck, high fever, or severe headache, contact your health-care provider immediately. • Our coaching staff cannot apply insect repellants to children. • Parents may apply repellants when appropriate.

  12. Three Teams • One A Team • Two B Teams • Team placement decided by coaches upon evaluation prior to first scrimmage. • Team placement may change during season. 7th Grade Football

  13. 7th Grade Football • Football practice will begin the first day of school. Football practice begins at 7:00 AM each morning. • Athletes need to arrive and enter doors by tennis courts promptly at 6:50 AM and be suited out in the gym by 7:00. • Do NOT drop your child off or have them arrive prior to 6:45 AM.

  14. 7th Grade Football • If your child has fine arts sectionals, he must come to football practice and bring his instrument to the field. • We dismiss him to sectionals. • He returns to practice after sectionals.

  15. 7th Grade Football B B • Game Nights Are on Tuesdays • Athletes are not allowed to leave campus after school on game days. • Food – Keep it Light!!! • Please bring food to the cafeteria prior to 3:45 PM. (name on food) • 7th grade athletes are to come by the cafeteria after 7th period to pick up their food on their way to the locker room.

  16. 7th Grade Football B B • Athletes must be picked up within 30 minutes of return to school after games. • Athletes must ride the bus to and from games. • Wednesdays are study hall days. - After the first two weeks of school, your child will come to school at 8:45 AM in school clothes. - He will be in athletic study hall for first period and will then go to class.

  17. 7th Grade FootballMajor Changes B B • 7th Grade Football is truly competitive this year in the AISD. • We will play to win. • There is no guarantee of playing time. • Players may move up or down the roster or from team to team based upon performance in practice and games.

  19. 8th Grade Football B B • Players may move up or down the roster or from team to team based upon performance. • There is no guarantee of playing time. • If your child misses a practice, your child may forfeit playing time. • “A” Team records are kept by the AISD. • Playoff and City Championship

  20. 8th Grade Football • Football practice will begin the first day of school. Football practice begins at 3:15 PM each afternoon. • Pick up your child after practice no later than 5:45 PM.

  21. 8th Grade Football B B • Game nights are on Wednesdays. • Athletes are not allowed to leave campus after school on game days. • Food – Keep it Light!!! • Please bring food to the cafeteria prior to 3:00 PM. (name on food) • 8th grade athletes are to come by the cafeteria after 6th periodto pick up their food on their way to the locker room.

  23. 8th Grade Football B B • If you must pick up your athlete and take them from 7th period Athletics, please do so at the beginning of the period. • It is very difficult to find and retrieve your student once we are on the fields and have begun workouts. • This applies to all sports including off-season.

  24. BE SUPPORTIVE!!! B B • Card Fundraiser first week of school. • We need parents to run clocks and video! • Join the Boles Athletics Booster Club. • Be positive at games!!! • Respect officials. (UIL Rule). • Thanks for being the estParents in the AISD!!! B
