  1. Welcome!Back to School Night • Presentation by Mrs. Larson • Kindergarten • Track A • AM Little Bears

  2. Who is Mrs. Larson? • A teacher • A wife • A mother • A reader • A traveler • An inspiring photographer • A theatre lover • An animal lover • A nature lover

  3. Arrival • PM Kindergarten no earlier than 8:55 • All students should enter through the main gates at the front of the school. Students should walk to room G-3 and line up in a single file line in front of door. • Parents should remain with their child until their child’s teacher arrives. • To ease anxiety that some children may experience, please prepare your child to say goodbye at the door.

  4. Dismissal • All students will be dismissed at the door one at a time to the designated pick up person. • Will dismiss to authorized adults only! Please update all phone number changes with Mrs. Larson. • Being on time helps to decrease anxiety in your child.

  5. Class Schedules • AM Kindergarten 8:oo a.m. – 11:31 a.m. • Track Change Days all attend AM session 8:00 a.m. to 11:31 a.m. • Library (Alternating Mondays) return book before that Monday • Computer

  6. Snack • 10 minutes will be provided each day • Send a nutritious snack (refrigeration and microwave facilities are not available). • Students should eat a full meal before coming to school!!!!

  7. Homework • Review of daily lessons • Homework(begin Sept) • Monthly packets: neatly complete with pencil/crayon • Read stories with or to your child daily • Monthly packet will be emailed to you as an attachment each month. Please return homework the last Friday of the month.   8. Comet of the Week • A Beary Special Me Bag • Complete Comet of the Week packet and create a poster Memory Albums • $10 donation is requested • Every child will receive a memory album of their kindergarten year.

  9. Report Cards/Conferences • First Report Card will be sent home Oct. (track change) • “P” for practice or “S” for satisfactory • Conferences as needed • Readiness Skills Dress Codes • Refer to Dress Code in school packet

  14. Safety For your child’s safety, he/she should know and be able to tell his/her • First and last name • Parents’ names • Phone number • Bus stop (if applicable)

Birthdays Recommendations: • Give a gift to the class like a book • Individual baggies of non-edible treats (enough for 24) • You are not obligated to send in anything, but we think the concept of a child sharing on his/her birthday is a really good one! • Please no invitations passed out during school hours

  16. Expectations • Bedtime 8 p.m. (my suggestion) • Homework checked (corrected) by parent • All notes signed and returned promptly • Homework completed and library books returned on time to school • Students are on time to school (give your child an alarm) • Pick up your child on time • Read with your child • Classroom rules and procedures are followed • Everyone does their BEST!!!!

Student’s Responsibilities • Return completed homework in blue folder the last Friday of each month • Return blue folder every Friday • Practice Reader books on Wednesday and return on Thursday • Complete their work neatly and accurately • Learn to be responsible • Return their library books • Write in homework journals weekly (January)

  18. Misc. • Donations: agenda, memory album, web site $15 • Back Packs should be able to hang in student’s cubby and hold a school provided folder. Remember to return blue folder every Thursday. Wish List Things we use in the classroom like: • computer (can be used if software is licensed to you) • Hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes (no lotions added) • Printer paper (bright colors) • Gift cards for Staples, Joann’s, Target, Wal-Mart, Walgreens • Large glue sticks • Costco gift cards for film developing **Check the pocket chart for other ideas
